We had a very low key day today, but it was nice for the most part. Both kids have mild runny noses so we couldn't put them in the nursery at church. Thankfully because Grandma and Grandpa only live a mile away and there are 2 morning services, we just switch off so all the adults can get to church. Grandma and Grandpa go to the 8:30 service and Mommy and Daddy go to the 10:30 service as soon as G & G get to the house. We're always late, but at least we make it, right?
Well, Luke and I get back from church to find that Mady is saying that her arm hurts and has been complaining about it for an hour. She and Grandpa were playing and she would slap her hand on the couch and he would grab her for a second so she couldn't get her hand away. She went to pull her hand away and immediately complained of pain. She was holding her arm still and refused to do anything with it. We tried a few different things- putting an ice pack on it, putting it in a sling of sorts, trying to force her to use it- but she would constantly pull her arm back, cry and say that it hurt. We couldn't figure out how much was the drama queen in her and how much was actual pain. For hours we debated going to urgent care. We decided to make one last effort to get her mind off it. We convinced her to go to the park with Mommy and Daddy. Lucky for us S and Granny were also coming over. A little play time, especially with S, finally got her mind off of things.
Funny things from today...
A conversation with Mady this morning:
Mommy: Mady, did you watch Tinkerbell after Snow White last night? (While Grandma and Grandpa babysat)
Mady: Yep. And I watched Robot movie (aka Wall-E)
Mommy: Wow! You must have Grandma and Grandpa wrapped around your little finger!
Mady: Yep! I"m so lucky! Lucky, lucky, lucky!
Note: She did not actually watch Wall-E. She saw something at the end of one of the movies that reminded her of it so she thought she watched it.
Logan: He tried walking behind a push toy the other day for the first time. Tonight he was really starting to take off with it. I got out the video camera to try to catch it and as Logan was making his pass, he got all excited because he saw Daddy. He shouted "Da da da da!" and fell right over. This doesn't sound like it would be all that abnormal or funny, but the look on his face in the video is priceless. If I can figure out how to upload it, I'll prove it! It just might have to wait until tomorrow.
By the way, Mady is quite the bully. We're really hoping this does not continue. She totally knows how to push S's buttons and will find the one thing that will irritate him at the moment and do it more and some how make it that much more annoying to really make him upset. Bulliness!
